Hi, I would like to create a game with hexagonal tiles and a hexagonal board, but first I need to do some testing. So I just quickly created basic tiles in GameStructor which would be fine to start. But I can't find a way to have a "hand" of tiles. I also can't find a way to shuffle tiles. I don't really see how you can test anything like that. Is there something simple to test a game. My end goal is a laser cut game made of wood (already tried the laser cutter, this all works fine), so I don't really want to spend a lot of time on the digital version.

Platform(s): PC Genre: Turn based top down Strategy Estimated year of release: Around 2010 Graphics/art style: 2D top down game board with a deck of cards with art similar to Magic the Gathering Notable characters: Aliens, Humans, Robots and Mutants Notable gameplay mechanics: You move troops around on a hexagon gameboard with a limited deck of cards you deploy depending on your available resources. Other details: It's a top down board like game with hexagons you move your troops around. Before you start the game you put together a deck of cards that you get to use throughout the game (I think.. I'm not sure if I remember all the details correctly here). When the game starts you have a base that gives a certain amount of resources every turn, you then explore the map to find additional resources and stuff, fight the enemy army and try to capture/destroy their bases. Nuking the enemy is possible but hard if I remeber correctly. The maker of the game has also made similar games with a western theme and a demonic theme.
Lost a Hexagon game to a hacker. The hacker is in the astronaut helmet, seen at 0:05. He reappears at 1:34 and 1:48 to purposely remove my tiles before flying away. It really sucks that you can put so much effort into trying to win and a hacker can spoil everything. Screw you Fall Guy 1765.
What are good dimensions for a hexagonal gaming table for TI4?
I'm looking to get a custom gaming table and the game I'm using to judge is TI4. I'm thinking now that a hexagonal table would be best, and the table I'm looking at has dimensions 45" edge to edge, 52" corner to corner in the play area, or 51" edge to edge, 59" corner to corner total size (it doubles as a dining table). I'm also looking to give it six cup holders and drawers and clip-on shelves. Do you think this would fit a six-player game? It would be a tight fit but I think that if players keep pieces and tokens in drawers and use the shelf for objectives and decks, it's playable. For eight players a perfect fit won't be possible; two people might use TV trays or something, but such games will likely be rare. Any thoughts before I go spending thousands of dollars on a table? Do you think these dimensions would work?
Just played my first hexagone game of this season.....
Not only did my framerate drop considerably(ps4 pro), but we still have the fall between the tiles bug. We had about 12 people in the final and on the first level my rate must have dropped to around 15 fps.
I love this game and have over 30 wins, and have no problem with any minigame (including team games, I think they’re a nice change of pace, most people would literally never get eliminated if every game was a Dizzy Heights or Gate Crash, even Slime Climb), just showing how I don’t have complaints, but holy sh*t I’ve had 5 19 person Hexagones in 2 hours of playing and they end faster than Fall Mountain races... with that many people there’s literally no strategy, just hoping you don’t get landed on by the 10 other people that also have no control of what they’re doing I feel like finals should only happen with single digit amounts of people, I could see maybe up to like 13 or something, but any more after that, just give us a Tip Toe or something
Does anyone know where I may find a large hexagonal game board for a wargame I am building. I have some posters with hexagon shapes that work now but wouldnt mind something nicer. Ideally something that can be unfolded like a monopoly board.
Hello, I'm trying to find a game with tiles that is very similar to this. The only difference is that it was real life tiles with acrylic/plastic-like chips. The paths on the tiles were colored and it came in a wooden holder with 2 wires holding the stack of chips on the wooden block. If I remember correctly there was one path on each side of the hexagonal tile. They were black tiles too. Oh, I also remember that it was something you'd buy at the counter of like a game store for example. If you need any more information please let me know!

After years of playing on a beautiful red rectangular table I built for my gaming group, I wanted to build a new hexagonal table after seeing someone else's table which inspired me. https://imgur.com/gallery/sDNWmaI
So, going from this image (large image, created by u/TheMikeDaoust) the shapes seem to be large islands made up of smaller shapes. My theory is that these shapes will eventually need to be plugged into a 'game of life', much like the Flower game described in the lore here. Then I believe that once the game is run, it will reveal a 'final shape' that will give us some kind of path to take inside of the CoT. The problem that I'm currently having is finding a pre-made game with the same rule set as the one listed in the lore. And I don't quite know how to create one myself. Hi everyone. I was hoping to start my first project a bit on the small scale. I'm hoping to make a board for my D&D group out of some light wood pieces. My questions will all be at the bottom, but here are all the details if you don't want to skip past them. I planned on...
Purchasing all my pieces (wood, wood glue, sandpaper, precut hexagons?)
Gluing the hexagons together
Sanding away the excess wood glue
Staining? Sealing? Finishing? the surface with a product
Housing it in some sort of frame for stability
I'm looking at ordering these hexagon pieces, this sandpaper, and this wood glue. My worry is that my hexagon framework isn't going to be stable enough with it being 1/8" thick... I've considered making my own thicker hexagon pieces using angle cuts on a table saw pulling from this video's technique, but that seems like it might be a lot of work for this venture. Also, I don't have a planer so I don't know if this is a viable option for me at this time. I'd have to get a bunch of vices and spend a load of time waiting for glue to set (I'm hoping to make a hexagon board, 10 hexes a side at the minimum, maybe 20).
Do you think I should go with precut 1" x 1/8" hexagons or make my own, thicker ones?
If I go with the precut thinner hexagons, how can I go about making the gluing process feasible? Do I need to very carefully use vices? Should I glue these to a backboard instead of each other?
If I go with making my own, can I get around not having a planer? I think the table saw my brother plans on giving to me can do the angles, but the use of vices to make a firm connection still might be a problem
Any other thoughts on the sandpaper or glue I plan on getting?
