Today, completely out of the blue (other than being cut out of meetings and email correspondence for the past few weeks) I get this: They make no mention of redundancy pay, and the dates are contradictory. I spoke to my Union rep and he said to ask them for clarification. ( Basically i work on the website, i increased sales by 50% in the last 2 years, and this year it still made more than 2019. They have lost money in all other offline parts of the business and seem to be pinning it on me for some reason.) 15th July 2020 Dear person, We informed you at the end of June that we would be holding our half yearly Company review, as we do every year. As a result of the review we have taken the difficult decision to make your position as job title redundant with effect from 16th July 2020. Bob and I have jointly taken this decision following advice given, as part of the ‘cost saving programme’ that the company is putting in place. Certain roles within the company going forward are to be outsourced during these difficult and challenging economic times. We have fully considered whether other vacancies exist within the company, but unfortunately we are not at present able to offer you any alternative roles, full or part time and many of our staff still remain on furlough. You are entitled by the terms of your contract of employment to receive four weeks’ notice of the termination of your employment. We would like you to work out your notice period but do also appreciate that you will need time off during this period in order to seek further employment. I’ve been here about a year, but I started shopping officially in April 2018 and I’ve now got 8 hauls under my belt. I work two jobs and have a couple side hustles while going to school, so it is really hard to find time to do one of these. For once, I’ve decided to suck it up and give back to the community that has blessed me. I’m working on getting everything together to review the rest of my hauls, too - most of which are much bigger than this one - so there is more to come. Not sure exactly how 1:1 it is since I’ve never held the real thing, but it looks spot on compared to retail pictures and the quality is outstanding. Can’t remember what that was) Weight: 197g Quality: 9/10 Never held retail, but this shirt looks really close compared to pics. Blank feels nice and soft it fits just like a retail Supreme tee, so I’m glad I didn’t size up. 9/10 just because I don’t know how to LC, but I highly recommend copping this. Supreme Betty Boop and Popeye Pins QC/PP/FP Popeye QC/PP/FP Betty Price: 9.9¥ Weight: 9g x2 Quality: 9/10 What can I say? They’re pins. They look spot on to me. The clasp-thing on the back of Popeye could be a little better, but other than that they are awesome. Got the Betty Boop one for my fiancé and the Popeye one is on my denim jacket. COP. 3M Shoelaces QC/PP/FP Size: 100cm Color: black 3M Price: 7.9¥ Weight: 19g Quality: 10/10 These are dope. 3M is really strong and you can see it in regular lighting situations. Got the flat laces to go on my UB’s from Lin. Not much else to say. COP. 158sir Adidas EQT Support ADV Overkill Coat of Arms QC/PP/FP Size: 41 Color: BY2939 Price: 79¥ Weight: 802g Quality: 6/10 Quality is low, but expected. Got these to beat up at the gym. There’s dye leakage everywhere and they fit kinda weird in the bottom. 3M is strong and I still think they look kinda cool. Not sure about overall 1:1ness or other flaws since I’ve never seen the retail pair and no one commented on my QC post. Cop if you need a pair of beaters and don’t care about flaws. BM Lin’s Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Sesame QC/PP/FP Size: 41 Price: 207¥ Weight: 1155 Quality: 10/10 Never had a pair of Yeezys, wasn’t sure if they’d be my thing. They seem super high quality to me, the materials are really nice and the boost is good. I sized up 0.5 at somebody’s recommendation and I wish I didn’t because they’re a tad loose. Other than that, I dig em. For the price, you can’t go wrong. COP TTS.
The weird little "commercial" at the end of The Trouble with Edward got me thinking, what exactly was that? If it's just a non-canon little joke for the fans, then that's the end of it. But what if it actually was something in-universe? What would it be? I don't think its something that Edward could have created, even as a crazy joke. The ship was falling apart around him and I just don't think he could have done all that in the time allotted. Clearly it's not an ad for a real product. I think the most reasonable explanation is that, as another user pointed out in another thread, this was some sort of skit from a 23rd century version of Saturday Night Live. It just seems way too on point to be anything else. The whole tribble incident was likely a massive debacle for the Federation given that the infestation got into the Klingon Empire, and assuming the story behind it got out, I can see it being widely lampooned in the media, hence the parody commercial. Which brings me to the next point. Why all the fixation on Edward inserting his own DNA into the tribbles? It doesn't seem necessary to the process of making them breed faster, because why would you splice in DNA from a species with a 9 month gestational period in order to make something breed insanely fast? It seems likely that he did something else to make them breed faster, and then included his own DNA... because he's completely insane. In the context of the writing of the episode, it doesn't make much sense either. They have a whole scene about him including his DNA in the tribble, and reference it in the post-credits scene as well, but the only in-episode payoff is grossed-out reaction from the rest of the crew that his DNA is in all the tribbles. Doesn't really seem to pay off enough, given the setup. So here's the theory: Somehow, someway, some crew in one of the future iterations of Trek is going to need to obtain Edward's DNA. I can't pin down why exactly, but my best guess would be that Edward somehow actually survived the Cabot, and like the nutcase he is, used his DNA as a locking mechanism for some future insane project that he works on after the Cabot, and some future crew stumbles upon it and has to deal with/disarm the project. The video comes into play when the crew in question learns that Edward Larkin was the creator of whatever they're dealing with, and they look him up in the Federation archives, and find that parody video (and proof that a copy of his DNA can be obtained from any offspring of his Tribbles) and end up on a tribble hunt trying to find one to extract his DNA from. A case could be made that this would happen on Lower Decks, because it would also allow H. Jon Benjamin to return in a voice-only role as a recurring character (who knows, maybe that idiot eventually uploads his consciousness into a tribble, and so we get an insane, H. Jon Benjamin voiced tribble running around the ship on Lower Decks). But the really interesting, and more serious, possibility might also even explain the weird VHS-like "tracking" display at the start of the "advertisement" video. Clearly we don't yet know what's happened to the Federation between Nemesis and the time in which Discovery just arrived, but we do know from Calypso that at some point, the remnants of the Federation became interested in saving old media, as evidenced by the Betty Boop video on Craft's escape pod. Interestingly, the Betty Boop video has some distortions which look somewhat like a VHS tape's artifacts. My theory here is that at some point between the 'fall' of the Federation and the far future where Discovery just arrived, there was a period when for whatever reason the archivists of the Federation had to store media on a non-digital media similar to VHS tapes, and then those tapes were later re-extracted to digital, resulting in the Betty Boop video and tribble "commercial" that we see. This is probably just an Edward-worthy insane theory to explain away something that was nothing more than a stupid joke, but there it is. Tl;dr: The Trouble with Edward kept hammering home the fact that Edward's DNA was in the tribbles he modified, while it wasn't necessary either in-universe (to make the tribbles breed faster) or out-of-universe (the only payoff is a stupid little joke). Therefore, I think at some point in the future, someone is going to need to get a copy of his DNA for whatever reason, and they'll learn from the parody video in Federation archives that his DNA is in the tribbles. They'll then set off on a fun tribble hunt.

This is one of my favorite albums I've ever made, partly because it overlaps with my own style and my own body type so closely. Someone wrote in to femalefashionadvice and asked "how do you do mod/twee/60s bohemian artsy with a tall/plus sized/curvy body?" That's a really good question, because so much of 60s mod is about appearing doll-like and waifish and fragile/tiny. My notes: To me, mod is mid-60's style. It's geometric shapes, the Beatles, Swinging England, moto boots in patent leather, sharp bobs with bangs, etc. Twee is girlish and youthful sweet and bookish items like Modcloth and early 2000's Anthro. I think there's a couple ways to go: More elegant "twee". 80s does Victoriana. So frilly white button down blouses, high waisted tweed trousers with a belt, delicate filigree jewelry, tousled hair, botanical prints, oxford shoes, court pumps, long striped suiting midi skirts, vests, etc. Since you're tall, you can pull off a lot of drama and Victoriana can go dark, taking it in a punky, indie direction easily. This is my dream look, heavily influenced by my mom's love of 80's and 90's "Victoria Magazine" and the first inspo album I ever did "The Wind in the Willows". Honestly, this is probably the way to go for the tall among us. But you do have other options! Bad girl 60s mod. Tight black sheath dress with short sleeves, moto or Doc boots, heavy bangs and a short bob. Switch that to a layered band tee over a long sleeved tee and a pair of black jeans, and you're indie music queen. Beatnik looks are in there too: skinny trousers, pointy toed loafers, white socks, and a thin ribbed sweater or turtleneck looks great on taller gals. 50's does Edwardian or "Teddy Girl" fashion. Also 80s did a version of this. Houndstooth jackets over tuxedo shirts, string ties, white socks and winklepicker shoes. Heavy eye makeup and a 'tude. It's much more on the "indie" side but the 50's influence with scatter pins, or bobby socks and loafers can bring it back to "twee". Key elements: Accessories. Because your clothes have to be carefully chosen, you need to lean on your accessories to get to the twee, mod look. Botanical and flora/fauna prints but not in primary colors, more in muted, forest floor tones I'm thinking. Perforated oxford shoes with socks showing through. Sweater clips. Pearls over a band tee with black jeans, glitter socks, and white pumps. Cat's eye glasses scaled to your face might work too. Put a bird on it! Hair cut, makeup, and tattoos. Again, if you can swing it, a jet black (or ice white, or Rihanna Red!) sharp Vidal Sassoon bob with baby bangs will make an everyday outfit scream "mod". Start wearing classic red lips, flushed cheeks, and minimal eye makeup, just sooty lashes and defined brows. Tattoos like these can be scaled to your frame and insta-twee/mod look. Use of plaids, houndstooth, and checks. Get a plaid boiler suit. Look into a pair of plaid skinny trousers to be worn with Docs and a skinny "poor boy" turtleneck. Things I would probably avoid: Rounded skimpy canvas flats Printed tights, printed shoes Pinafore dresses Peter Pan collars Mini dresses Fit and flare dresses in bright poppy colors Cropped cardigans Betty Boop or other pin up styles English Private school Harry Potter fandom type stuff Fairy tale twee that relies on dainty, delicate, ethereal elements Mismatched Converse or other "scene" style looks any mod or twee look that relies on "Look how tiny and childlike and delicate and girly I am in this HUGELY OVERSIZED item!!! I survive on dew and edible grasses and I wear dandelions as caps!" Toddler grandma style (a look I think is terrific on a very specific type of person but likely not someone 6'3") this would be big blowsy floral dresses with pastel jewelry, ditsy print dresses with colored tights and a colored cardigan, prints on prints on prints, heart prints or cat prints out the wahoo, etc. of course you can wear whatever you want!! but for the best execution of the look I'd avoid those items Where to shop: For Victoriana: Sundance, J. You can change the colour, paint job, and some of the physical parts in Fort Tarsis. The ability to do so doesn’t wear out Some cosmetics will be earned / purchased but they aren’t single use

Combat cover mechanic looks unlikely in @BioWare's #AnthemGame. But that's ok because waist-high walls are problematic in an Exosuit and 'soft-cover' using terrain (if necessary), or a shield, is better anyway.

It's been mentioned that the colossus moves but at a slower pace. It may be ok to assume that all the suits have their own speed. It's been hinted that the interceptor is very quick, even in the footage you see how fast it is.
Overland (out of combat) they are the same so the group can stay together. The colossus is the least nimble

If you're in a mission and you get downed and your revive timer ( if we do have a revive timer ) goes out will we respawn or die for the whole mission?
I believe you can wait for a team revive indefinitely. But you can also respawn at the last resupply point you hit

The insanely high-priced portion of the resell game is dying
Recent TNF collabs getting marked up 300% then selling around retail Air Max 98s got slapped with $300 prices and then came down to around $200 (though this may be due to NikeLab rereleasing them and them being not the most popular collab of all time) Box Logo pieces are sitting on Grailed at the higher end of their price ranges ($450+ for a hoodie, $400+ for a crewneck, $300+ for a tee) and receiving price drops regularly The newest Vans collab is rarely even being resold for profit Don't even talk about recent accessories that people are trying to flip (Betty Boop pin for $30+?) When the Mendini decks released, sets were being priced at $500, the average has since dropped to around $300 These new Supreme pieces are getting flipped by tons of buyers, only to flood the market with the product and drive the price way down. Most aftermarket transactions that are going on are people buying because 1. They missed the drop 2. Are searching for their (usually older) grails. Sellers are 1. just trying to get the product out of their hands as fast as possible 2. Finding their old pieces and listing them just to pass it off to someone who wants it more, while also making a little profit. I personally have no hate against resellers, but this should serve as a warning to everyone that Supreme pieces are not being resold in the way they once were. OK i'm reading these since I have them. They are fine but the name for the badguy army (Orcs) just cracks me up. Wargals .. all I can see are 'gals' like in 1940's pin up betty boop types in leather costumes with nasty swards. War -Gals .. like 'hey gal wanna dance? 23 skiddoo!' dono why but it cracks me up.

It's been in fairly common usage in surfer and skater slang since the 80's, and was probably made even more popular by the 1995 movie Clueless. I've always thought it referred to Archie's girlfriend, since one of her defining characteristics is her attractiveness and bubbly personality. The Betty Boop and Betty Grable references seem possible, but I don't know if the slang was really used that far back.
